Kilwell Talon Product Review

It took me a while to get to grips with the colour combination Kilwell have used on this rod, green gold and grey is unusual but it works. I have been running 10-12kg drag on the boat and this rod just loves it, very forgiving on the angler for a middle weight set and catches a lot of fish on live baits due to its action.

This rod has received the most positive comments out of all of the rods on the boat – just about everyone who used it loved it. It has caught fish up to 25kg with ease. Jig wise it’s, a treat to jig a 250-300g jig, it springs back well giving the jig that little bit extra pep resulting in hook ups.

Alps componentry though out , the real seat is coated in titanium carbide for awesome anti corrosive qualities and the PVD guides make this rod a true top end product. Obviously the boys at Kilwell have made many rods by hand and this shows the skill of the team.
