The Cray pot float timer is designed to be rigged so that you float stays underwater and hidden until you come back 24 hours later. Easy to use, just tie a loop in the float line short enough to hold float under the water to  the stainless loop either side of the annode, when the annode has dissolved it will free the 2 halves of the annode and the float will draw the line tight as it heads to the surface.
